A full year of Omaha steakhouse reviews and the first-ever complete map of Nebraska steakhouses, highlighting iconic eateries across the state.

I’m writing a new, yearlong series for the Flatwater Free Press called Steak Town USA. The series will include a year of reviews of Omaha steakhouses, plus four feature stories about steakhouses around the state of Nebraska. It also includes this map, of every steakhouse in the state of Nebraska.

Nebraska’s steakhouses

What we’re eating

  • a ribeye, cooked to medium;
  • a filet, cooked to medium rare;
  • an order of onion rings;
  • shrimp cocktail;
  • a loaded baked potato;
  • a Manhattan;
  • and a Negroni.
  • We’ll also try one specialty item per stop, identifying one thing the steakhouse is known for and adding it to the list.
