→ Kinaara, a new Indian spot near 138th and Q Streets, is open. Its chef comes from the now-closed Blackstone Indian Bowl. The restaurant is serving a full menu, including curries and biryani, along with some interesting house specials like Tellicherry pepper goat fry and Fish Pollichathu, which is salmon marinated in chili powder, turmeric, and black pepper, then wrapped in a banana leaf with pollicha masala and grilled.
→ The Mandarin, a new Chinese spot, is open in Aksarben Place. The restaurant, at 6307 Center St., is a fast-casual setup serving all the Americanized Chinese favorites.
→ Mars Bar and Grill, known for its 99 taps and regular live music, closed Feb. 26. The bar originally was a Growler USA franchise, and changed ownership, reopening in 2019 after the original business closed.
